Virna Nova suit une trajectoire ascendante, d’album en album, portée par ses élans spontanés et son authenticité. Solaire et ouverte, elle explore les musiques qui « grattent », alliant tradition et modernité avec fraîcheur et feeling.
Stretching Da Bossa, son troisième disque, reflète son univers : avenant, aventureux, précis et espiègle. Ce projet célèbre la bossa nova avec respect et audace, mêlant reprises d’Antonio Carlos Jobim et compositions personnelles. Virna rend hommage à ses influences, notamment Djavan, tout en insufflant une énergie neuve et un syncrétisme sonore libérateur.
Entourée d’une équipe de musiciens de talent ( Thierry Maillard :claviers, Stéphane Belmondo : trompette et Rhani Krija : percussions) elle mêle rythmes brésiliens et autres styles dans une fusion harmonieuse.
Formée au CNSM de Paris, Virna, fidèle à sa guitare depuis l’enfance, puise son inspiration dans le jazz et le Brésil, pays qui a donné naissance à son surnom « Nova ». Stretching Da Bossa est ainsi une invitation au voyage, une offrande musicale pleine de vie et de passion.

Stretching Da Bossa, her third album, is a true reflection of her world: warm, adventurous, precise, and playfully bold. This project honors bossa nova with both reverence and daring, blending covers of Antonio Carlos Jobim with her own original compositions. Virna pays tribute to her influences (especially Djavan) while injecting new energy and a liberating sonic fusion.
Backed by a team of outstanding musicians (Thierry Maillard on keyboards, Stéphane Belmondo on trumpet, and Rhani Krija on percussion), she weaves Brazilian rhythms with other styles into a harmonious blend.
Trained at the Paris Conservatory (CNSM), Virna has stayed true to her guitar since childhood. She draws deep inspiration from jazz and Brazil, the country that inspired her nickname “Nova.”
